Rigid Setup Boxes

Built to be felt.

The rigid setup box is what most people mean by luxury packaging: a box with real weight that holds its shape for years. We build every one around the product going inside it.

As a custom rigid box manufacturer, we build every box from the product outward, with custom inserts cut to each piece. We manufacture rigid setup boxes for fragrance, beauty, candle, chocolate, and fashion brands. Design is included in every project.

Boxes manufactured in Brooklyn and through our global network, every one to the same standard.

How rigid boxes are built.

Rigid setup boxes are built from heavy greyboard wrapped in printed or specialty paper, and the construction is the first big decision, since it sets the feel and the cost at once. We build all of them.

Wrapped Setup Box

The classic luxury box. Greyboard core wrapped in printed, textured, or specialty paper. Available as two-piece (lid and base) or neck box. The foundation of premium packaging.

V-Groove Box

A sheet of greyboard scored and folded to create clean, sharp edges without visible wrapping seams. Produces a seamless, modern aesthetic. Ideal for brands that want an architectural, minimalist look.

Magnetic Closure Box

A hinged lid with concealed magnets, tuned to close with a sound that means quality. Used for fragrance, beauty, chocolate, and gifting.

Rigid Box

Window Box

A rigid box with a die-cut window, typically with a clear PET panel. Lets the product speak while maintaining structural integrity and shelf presence. Common in chocolate and confectionery.

Drawer Box

A sliding tray that pulls out from a sleeve or outer shell. The slow reveal is the point. For jewelry, fragrance, discovery sets, and chocolate gift boxes.

Glue-Free Wrapped Box

A special construction, available on request, where the wrap goes on without adhesive. Same box, one material family, easier to recycle. We build it for projects that ask for it.

Every surface is a decision.

The paper gets chosen before the artwork, because the sheet decides what everything after it can do. The rest runs in the order below, which is the order it runs on the floor.

A linen textured board box, the weave of the paper reading across the lid edge, foil type stamped on the front

Papers

Uncoated and textured stocks from specialty mills, chosen for how the sheet turns a corner. The ones we keep going back to take a 90 degree fold and leave the edge reading clean.

Printing

Offset for the wrap, and screen when a light ink has to sit opaque over a dark stock. Screen lays the ink down thick enough that a white reads as white at full strength.

A black presentation box with white printed lettering, a bottle seated in an orange lined tray above it

Lamination

Matte or gloss film over the printed stock, laid down before any foil so the stamp has a consistent surface to bite. On a paper whose tooth is the whole appeal we leave it off.

Foil Stamping

Gold, silver, and the colours in between, set with heat and dwell rather than ink. A hairline serif holds its shape if the die is cut deep enough and the press is slowed, so we proof the letterform before the run.

Embossing & Debossing

A brass die and its counter squeeze the paper instead of printing on it, so the mark is in the material and survives being wrapped onto board. Combination work puts the foil down and raises the emboss in one pass, which is the only way the two stay in register at the edge of a letter.

A clear vacuum formed tray seated in a sage green box, a cavity shaped for each piece, with the lid resting in front

Inserts

Molded paper pulp or a vacuum formed tray, cut to the piece. Tolerance is the whole job, and the one we hold keeps the piece still when the box is turned over.

Built for brands that demand precision.

We manufacture rigid setup boxes for fragrance houses, beauty brands, candle makers, chocolatiers, patisseries, and fashion labels.

From structure to delivery.

Every rigid box starts with the structure. Dimensions, board weight, closure, and insert all get settled before any artwork begins, which is why the artwork ends up looking like it belongs.

Samples are built in our Brooklyn Factory, so you approve the actual box before production.

Production runs in Brooklyn and globally, to the same specification, with one team accountable for both.

Selected work.

Shrrrhhhh.

That's the sound you want: the base sinking slowly as you lift the lid, because the fit is exactly that tight.

A rigid setup box, also called a set-up box or luxury box, is a non-collapsible box built from heavy greyboard and wrapped in printed paper or specialty material. It arrives pre-assembled and holds its shape permanently, which is why it is the standard for luxury packaging in fragrance, cosmetics, jewelry, confectionery, and premium retail.

Pricing depends on size, materials, finishing complexity, and quantity. A two-piece rigid box with foil stamping starts from around $1.50 per unit at production volumes of 1,000 to 5,000 units, and rises with magnetic closures, custom inserts, and multi-color printing. Every OFF.PACKAGING proposal itemizes construction, materials, and finishing.

Our standard minimum is 1,000 units. Tell us your quantity and we will tell you which production route fits it.

Brooklyn production runs 4 to 6 weeks from approved artwork to delivery. Global production runs 10 to 12 weeks by ocean, or 6 to 8 weeks by air. Every project includes a detailed production timeline from the proposal stage.

We own the factory. Design, structural development, prototyping, and manufacturing happen under one roof in Brooklyn, so the people who drew your box are the people who run it, and design is included in every project. We work only in premium packaging, which means the presses are set up for foil, emboss, and specialty papers every day of the week.
