Discovery Set Boxes
The first box they ever hold from you.
A discovery set is an invitation, and it usually arrives before anything else does. We build it to be worth accepting: substantial in the hand, precise inside, and good enough to keep on the shelf afterward.
We design and manufacture discovery set boxes for niche and luxury fragrance brands, with custom fittings cut to each vial. Design is included in every project.
Your most important box.
The discovery set is how most people meet a fragrance house. Lower commitment than a full bottle, and carrying the whole identity anyway, which makes it the piece we most enjoy getting right.
Get it right and the next purchase is already halfway made. So we treat it as the flagship it is: fittings cut to each vial, a lid tuned to open the way you want it to, and paper that tells them what kind of house this is before they smell anything.
Built for the collection.
Vial count, vial size, aesthetic, and where it sells all pull the design in different directions, so every box gets built from scratch around the actual collection.
Drawer Box
A sliding tray within a rigid sleeve. Tactile and architectural. Ideal for brands with a minimalist or modern identity.
Magnetic Closure
A hinged lid with concealed magnets, tuned for a close that sounds expensive. The most popular construction for discovery sets that get kept.
Lid and Base
A classic two-piece box. Clean, simple, and elegant. The lid lift can be calibrated for tension and air resistance.
Interior & Fittings
Precision Vial Fittings
Each cavity cut to the exact diameter and height of its vial, so every one sits still and comes out clean.
Paper-Wrapped Inserts
Inserts wrapped in the same paper as the exterior, so the inside of the box belongs to the outside.
Molded Paper Pulp
A natural, textured insert with its own quiet look. Recyclable and distinctive.
Multi-Level Configurations
Tiered trays for larger collections, or for pairing vials with printed cards, booklets, and sample blotters.
Exterior Finishes
Real papers from specialty mills: coated, uncoated, textured, fibrous, recycled, and custom colored stocks. Finishing runs to hot foil stamping, embossing, debossing, spot UV, letterpress, and silk screen. We pick the combination that sounds like the brand.
How a discovery set gets made here.
Four decisions, in order, each one built on the last.
01. The Collection
We start with your vials: how many, what size, what shape, and where the set will be sold. Everything structural follows from that.
02. Structure and Fittings
The fittings get cut first, one seat per vial, and the box takes its proportions from there. Closure, interior layout, and exterior dimensions all get resolved before any artwork begins.
03. Paper and Finish
We lay out the paper swatches, foil samples, and flocking colors on the table and choose together. Clients are welcome at the Brooklyn factory for this part, and most take us up on it.
04. Sample and Approval
Ten to fifteen days in, you are holding it: the actual box, the actual paper, the actual vials inside. Production runs in Brooklyn and globally, and starts when you have approved the physical piece.

Pricing depends on vial count, box construction, materials, fittings, and finishing. A rigid setup discovery set box with premium paper and foil stamping starts from around $3 per unit at production volumes of 1,000 to 5,000 units, and rises with construction and finishing complexity. Every OFF.PACKAGING quote itemizes construction, materials, and finishing.
Our standard minimum is 1,000 units. Tell us your collection and quantity and we will tell you which production route fits it.
Yes, and it is one of our favorite problems. Every cavity gets sized individually, so a 2ml spray vial and a 5ml dabber in the same box each get their own seat, cut to their own dimensions.
Every material OFF.PACKAGING specifies for fragrance is odor-neutral and non-reactive, including the insert materials sitting closest to the vials, so the fragrance smells like itself and nothing else.
Yes. Fragrance description cards, brand story booklets, sample blotters, and printed interior panels all build into the structure: a panel printed inside the lid, a booklet slotted into the insert, or cards nested alongside the vials.
Sampling takes 1 to 2 weeks from approved design. Brooklyn production runs 4 to 6 weeks from the approved sample; global production runs 10 to 12 weeks by ocean. For a seasonal launch or a new collection, start 12 to 16 weeks before your target date.
Both, on the same terms. A first collection gets the same fitting precision and the same finishing standard as a flagship program, and the specification does not change as the brand scales.
