Maison Noir
Discovery Set
Lift the lid and the symbols appear.
A neck box carries a raised inner wall that the lid sits down over, and on this one that wall is where the symbols live. Hot foil stamped, hidden while the box is closed, each one standing directly above the vial it belongs to. They do not name anything. They tell you what a scent is without saying it, which is a harder thing to draw and a better thing to receive.
Which is also the hard part to build. The foil has to land on the neck in register with a fitting cut from a separate drawing, so a sixteenth of an inch of drift puts a symbol over the wrong bottle. Both come off the same dieline and the stamp gets checked against a real tray rather than a proof.
The insert is cut from the paper used on the outside, so opening the box does not change the material under your hand.
The edges are V cut, which is the corner that only looks easy. The board is grooved to the exact angle and folded, so the wrap turns a clean ninety degrees with no roll and no bulk where the faces meet.
Five symbols, five bottles, every one of them in the right place. Nobody will notice. That is the job.
