Paper weight, handle type, base construction, and finish all affect how a bag feels and performs. We guide clients through every decision.
Papers
Weight follows the footprint. A wide bag wants 250gsm to hold its face flat, where a small one keeps its shape at 170, and the specialty mills we buy from run both.
Handles
Rope and cotton are knotted behind a reinforcement patch, ribbon is pasted flat against it. The patch is the part that decides what the bag will carry.
Finishing
Foil and emboss land on the flat sheet before the bag is formed, so the register has to account for where the fold will fall.
Base
A board insert sits under the paper so the base stays square when the bag is set down full. It is the difference between a bag that stands and one that slumps.

OFF.PACKAGING manufactures rope-handle shopping bags, ribbon-handle gift bags, die-cut handle bags, and twist-handle carrier bags, in kraft, art paper, and specialty textured stocks from specialty mills. Every bag is custom printed, with foil stamping, embossing, and lamination available.
Bag minimums run higher than box minimums because of how bags are produced, and they vary by construction and handle type. Tell us your quantity and we will tell you which production route fits it.
Heavier stocks feel more substantial and cost more; lighter stocks fold and store better. The right weight depends on bag size and what the bag has to carry, and we specify it per project rather than defaulting to one house standard.
Global production runs 10 to 12 weeks by ocean. Every project includes a detailed timeline from the proposal stage.
